Founding the Four Horsemen Old School Magic 93/94 Players Group and Format
The Four Horsemen is a new Old School Magic format originally suggested to The Chadster by Nick Brier and founded in June of 2022 which is focused on the 93/94 expansions sets of Magic the Gathering including: Arabian Nights, Antiquities, Legends & The Dark. In this format, only cards from these expansions plus the five basic lands from the baseline sets, and the 93/94 promo cards (Arena, Nalathni Dragon, and Sewers of Estark) can be utilized. The Four Horsemen promotes improved mental health and mental health awareness via online social interaction through community, connection, and gaming, specifically through playing a new format of Old School Magic the Gathering.

We are a rapidly growing group of individuals who are passionate about the original Magic the Gathering game, the character of the vintage cards, the uniqueness of the 1993 -1994 Magic gaming experience and play dynamics and the community and camaraderie built around these themes.

The goal of the Four Horsemen (4HM) format is to be fun as well as different to specifically allow play of Old School Magic (OS MTG) cards from these amazing expansion sets that rarely see the light of day! There are numerous other Old School Formats where you can play all of the top 20-30 "Usual Suspects" and all the typical powerful Alpha/Beta/Unlimited cards. However, within the Four Horsemen, the structure is intentionally designed to allow the emergence of other cards that hardly ever see any play.

Thus, Four Horsemen OS MTG Decks are different for what you would normally see, which is what makes this format so much fun and so interesting and unique. It's a completely unsolved format and ripe for innovation. And we allow Proxies and reprints to make this format accessible to all!

That is me in my Wizard character robe and Counterspell T-Shirt. This picture pretty much says everything you need to know about me when it comes to Magic The Gathering. I am a family man, a father to one daughter, Audrey Lené, partner to Brook, the love of my life and my fiancé, and a passionate Magic Nerd. My Friends call me "Chadly". My Magic buds call me "The Chadster". My parents call me the black sheep of the family, but they're from the Baby Boomer generation, and we know better than to believe that!
On the right is my friend, and the co-founder of the Four Horsemen, the One-And-Only, Mr. Nick Brier. Nick is the definition of "A Stand Up Guy" in his personal community, as well as in the extended Old School Magic community. Nick is a family man, husband, father, and a very skilled Old School Magic Player with a true passion for the game. Together, we have formed The Four Horsemen!
Being just a few months old, the Four Horsemen Old School Magic Players Group went from two guys with an idea, to where we are today! Here is what the Four Horsemen have been up to:
